IRS Impersonation Scam - Payment

Have you had a call from the "IRS" demanding you owe them money and you felt a little sceptical about it, but at the same time worried because the IRS is nothing to toy with? If so you have got to stop what you are doing and read this.

How payment is required

There have been numerous amounts of telephone calls impersonating the IRS. So when and if you receive this call, you know it is a scam, because they will ask for payment in such odd forms, if you say you cannot afford the payment or don't have the funds available. The person on the other line claims they can receive payment in the form of a prepaid debit card. If you don't have a prepaid debit card they will accept gift cards or iTune payment. If you do not have anything of this monetary value then they claim they will take you to court and they claim that you will serve prison time. They may also threaten you with taking your home and many other false claims.

Check if you really have tax debts

However, there is no need to worry all you have to do is be aware and educated of this scam. If you have tax debt you can check by going to www.irs.gov and searching for a phone number to get in touch with the IRS directly to check and see if you have a tax debt. Make sure that you go to ".gov" and nothing else, because other sites of course are illegitimate that will serve you no purpose. You can also look online if you have already set up an online account with the IRS.

Pay your tax debts safely

You can safely pay your taxes in the United States of America online at www.irs.gov if you have an account set up.
